Hello readers and happy Friday!!
Today I will be sharing another side of fashion that has inspired designers around the world for the longest time, and is getting more popular with the explosion of social social media. “Ankara” prints!
“Ankara” as it is commonly known in its authentic form is “100% colorful cotton fabric, with vibrant patterns and is primarily associated with Africa due to the tribal-like patterns and motifs.” -Nikki Billie Jean (All things Ankara).
Ankara” patterns are achieved using a sophisticated dyeing method originally from Indonesia known as “batik”; and thanks to its versatility, a plethora of designs including clothing, jewelry, shoes and other fashion accessories can be made from it.
My choice of Ankara (by Zoe Arku) for this post was a front bow mermaid dress, with a deep neck line that accentuated my long neck and bustline, and gathers around the sleeves. I tend to wear warm or neutral colors such as the ones in this dress pattern because they flatter my complexion.
The designer equally made sure that the dress was well-fitted so as to compliment my slim figure.
In my opinion, the dress is done more justice with me lying on the ground. As for the make up look and skincare secret to a luminous complexion, please refer to BrightenMi (www.brightenmi.com).
Thank you for stopping by and see you next week.
xoxo,
Lily.
